CMLS Certification Application.
ASC scientist members working in Australia who have met the requirements for the ASC CEC scheme for the previous 2 years can now apply for CMLS certification at no extra cost. If you are participating in the CEC scheme but do not have a record of meeting the goals for the previous 2 years, you can still apply and will be granted Conditional Certification which will run for 2 years only, after which you will need to have valid CEC records to move to full certification.
You will be required to upload a declaration of competency assessment by your supervisor using the CMLS-approved pro forma below.
Competency Assessment Declaration
Instead of sending the above form through to CMLS, you now will send it through to admin@cytology.com.au and your details and payment will be sent through to CMLS on your behalf.
Only those meeting the NPAAC definition of Clinical Scientist (Fellowship of the Australian Society of Cytology (FASC) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in a subject relevant to the scope of diagnostic testing of the laboratory they are supervising plus 10 years’ relevant experience) may apply for certification at that level.
ASC supports the voluntary certification of medical scientists and encourages our members to participate in the CEC scheme and to join the register.
