The Certificate of Cytotechnology of the Australian Society of Cytology (CTASC) is a post-graduate qualification.
The aim of the examination is to certify that the successful candidate has demonstrated high-level knowledge and competence in the theory and practice of diagnostic cytology. ASC certification is professionally recognised and acknowledged within the pathology industry and by accreditation bodies as a requirement for the practice of cytology within Australia.
POSTPONEMENT OF CTASC EXAMINATION 2020.
The CTASC Examination for 2020 will now be postponed until later in the year due to concerns regarding coronavirus (COVID-19). The Executive committee and Board of Examiners will continue to review the examination date in light of current restrictions.
This decision has not been taken lightly and follows a number of revised attempts by the Board of Examiners to satisfy all current Government requirements regarding social distancing and movement of materials and persons.
We recognise that this will be very disappointing for the Candidates involved and would encourage employers to assist them in continuing to prepare for the exam later this year.
Please note: Applicants must have had at least 24 months continuous membership of the Society.
Venues for future Examination centres will be decided by the Board of Examiners using results collated from the survey below.
Limit one survey response per person, responses received without identification will be discarded. The venue is determined at the October Board of Examiners meeting for the next year’s exam, therefore this survey needs to be completed before October in the year prior to be included in the decision.
Applications close on Sunday, 1 March 2020.
Application forms must be completed and sent to either firstname.lastname@example.org or PO Box 52 HENLEY BEACH SA 5022 before close of business on the above date.
A colour passport-size photo (good quality scan if emailing) must accompany the application together with certified copies of your qualifications.
New Guidelines and Application Forms are available each year from 1 January. Please ensure you are completing the correct form.
